In the wake of the nationwide ‘Fit India Movement’ which is aimed at promoting to inculcate physical activities and sports in their everyday lives, Billabong High International School organized the ‘Fit India Week’. It is rightly said, sport helps one in the overall development. At Billabong High International School, we give great importance to sports and games because we strive toward the holistic development of our young learners and the future leaders of the world. Sports help young learners to inculcate values like discipline, integrity, dedication, and optimism. We believe that sports also help in building a sense of cooperation and team-spirit in the learners. Sport is a preserver of health. It showcases not only our physical strength but makes us understand the values of teamwork, patience, respect, acceptance, belief, and consistency.
The learners attended the inauguration ceremony of the new initiative by the government of India, “FIT India” at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, on 29th August 2019, which was addressed by the honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi.

As a part of the ‘Fit India School Week’, the school took an initiative to encourage the learners, teachers, staff, and management to live a healthy lifestyle. The school organized a number of activities like Morning Assemblies, Yoga, Mental Fitness Exercise, Martial Arts, Poster Making, Traditional and Regional Games, etc.

Every day at Billabong begins with meditation and yoga followed by the morning prayer in order to make the learners, faculty members and staff feel rejuvenated and relaxed.

The school understands the significance of a child’s emotional quotient and hence, it’s a no-tolerance policy for any episode of bullying. A session on Bullying was conducted by the Peer Educators, highlighting the offense and preventive measures that can be taken against it.

A session was conducted on Cyber Bullying by the school counselor. The objective was to make the learners understand what constitutes cyberbullying, who does it, why people don’t and can’t approach anyone, how to identify and stop it. Peer Educators also gave a presentation on prevention from Cyber Bullying.

The learners are a part of a competitive world but for their holistic development at a young age, they are taught how to manage their stress effectively by opening up to people they trust in. The school provides a safe place for collaborative learning and nurtures the learners to confide in their teachers and parents in order to cope with stressful situations

The school understands the importance of physical activities and thus focuses on a range of these activities varying from dance, sports, martial arts, aerobics etc. The school believes that physical activity and exercise can have immediate and long-term health benefits. Most importantly, regular activity can improve your quality of life and thus, we inculcate in our learners the habit of regular physical workout.
