Student Empowerment

STUDENT EMPOWERMENT

Billabong High International School encourages students from a young age to take the initiative and go where no man has gone before. Their leadership qualities are nurtured through participation in a competitive house system and student prefectship. As they grow older, their latent abilities as leaders are further fostered through formal training programmes in life skills and Adolescent Peer Educators Program. The wellbeing of students is taken care of by the school counselors by creating awareness among them and being available for the students in dealing with their academic, emotional and social issues.

Students are given a platform to be alert, responsible & empowered through student committees like Peer Educators, Child Abuse, Anti-Bullying Squads, POCSO that imbibe them with the basic life skills & leadership qualities.  Workshops on understanding & coping with emotionality, preventing substance abuse, high risks sexual behavior, violence & aggression, child’s right education, career counselling, coping with emotions, time-management, conflict & anger management, balancing academics & activities, dealing with emergency situations, managing result anxiety & so on., are in integral part of the school empowerment program.

Career Counselling sessions are also organized in collaboration with CCD (Centre for Career Development).
